How to go to DisneyWorld & eat healthy

DD & I went to DisneyWorld from Monday to Wednesday. My main purpose was to meet TERESA159 since she'd be there with her sister. It's only a 3 hour drive from me so how could I resist? It was really thrilling to meet one of my dear SparkFriends in person. Hate the photo but have to include it. We had dinner at one of the sit down restaurants at Disney. DD & I split the veggie sandwich and a salad which were very good.

Since we drive, we always take food with us to WDW and usually stay somewhere with a kitchen. We eat breakfast in the room, have healthy snacks throughout the day, then have a nice dinner. I brought Chobani yogurt, peanut butter & western bagels for breakfast. Snacks included home-made hummus with veggies (carrots, cukes, celery, peppers), almonds, melon balls (very refreshing in the heat, kashi bars. I'm sure we had lots of people looking at us while we waited on line for a ride, munching on fresh veggies dipped in hummus.

This makes it very cost effective and health effective. It takes some pre-planning but it's worth it. We're going back in October for the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot but we'll have our healthy snacks with us. This way I can stay in calorie range but have room for little splurges along the way!
