Glory Bound - Heart Ride V

I'm still trying to figure out the heat. Last week was gorgeous in Central Indiana. Today, there's a chance for record heat. However, it wasn't a valid reason to delay this year's Heart Ride! I left the house just before 7:30, in hopes of beating the bulk of the heat. After last week's really surprising ride, I felt that I had a pretty good chance at a fast ride. I also thought I'd do something different for this year's Heart Ride: laps! I have discovered a great 20 mile loop; it's fast, relatively low traffic, and with only a small exception, it's in really good shape.
In all, I completed 2 and a half laps. The pace was really good, too, right at 3:46/mile. I was hoping for 3:36, but the heat just drained the legs in the last 5 miles. And, true to form, one song got stuck in my head, and is now the theme song for Heart Ride V: Dixie Road by Lee Greenwood now joins The River, Total Eclipse of the Heart, I'm Fonna Fly and Heard it in a Love Song as the themes for the Heart Rides.
Love'll only hold you down.
Boy, you're glory bound!
Another great Heart Ride!!
