Change in plans

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Got off work this morning at 6 a.m. made it to the gym by 6:10, on the elliptical by 6:20 and left at 6:34. Not much of a work out! I had planned on doing 40 minutes on the elliptical, some strength exercises and 30-40 minutes on the treadmill but plans changed.
My daughter called my cell phone just as I was getting into the elliptical, the baby was up and wanted to stay up, since about 3:30 this morning! The daughter asked if I could come and watch her so she could get a little sleep since she had to work today. I just couldn't say no to the chance to spend time with my Lil Cupcake, so when I got there the baby was wide awake, not a sleepy eye to be found. Well since it was fairly decent outside decided we could go for a walk so it would be quiet in the house and Mommy and Daddy could get at least 45 minutes of sleep. Wouldn't you know it, baby was sleeping before we had even walked for 5 minutes. Ended up walking with her for a little over 40 minutes, then back to her house to make sure Mommy would get up in time to make it to work, Daddy was already heading out as we got back.
The baby went to her first day at day care today and I think she could tell that something was off with her Mommy last night so she didn't sleep as well as normal. My Daughter cried from the time she dropped her off at day care until she pulled into the parking lot at work. This was the first time it hasn't been one of her grandparents watching her when my Daughter has worked. So I'm sure the baby was picking up on some of that nervousness the night before.
Plans change but sometimes it is a nice thing!

You still had exercise with some special company. It is hard to drop off for the first time at daycare. Our first was home two years, then in daycare. MIL watched him while we worked.
