Day 1 down and other stuff

Tuesday was Day 1 of the Jamie Eason 12 week fitness challenge. I had all my batch cooking ready and prepared, so knowing what to eat was easy. 6 small meals throughout the day makes it easy to not be hungry. I drank TONS of water.

What I was not prepared for was how TIRED I would feel. I am a coffee drinker, but I can't drink the stuff without the creamer. I want to start the challenge off as clean as possible, because I would like to follow the program as intended. I am one of those people who do not make progress when they deviate from the plan. Needless to say, I felt like I wanted to sleep all day and had no energy.

Day one workout was pretty straightforward. Narrow pushups are hard to do. I am sore today, so what I did had some effect on my muscles, which is the goal. I am not sure what to do about my old workouts. I like what pilates does for my body, so I may continue to do those and make them my rest days.

As for work and life, well, things are ok for now. The kids are in school and coming home and doing homework without too much of a fight about it. My son just got his yellow stripe belt from his martial arts class and a medal. He is so proud of himself. My daughter is still angry I took her facebook and has asked me every single day when she can have it back. I tell her every single day that she has to wait until her report card comes and her grades are improved. Facebook is such a time waster for people who allow it, and SHE definitely forgoes homework for facebook. Me and my former BFF are still not on speaking terms. 21 years of friendship and I just don't see her in the same way anymore. One of these days I may tell the story about what happened, but let's just say that any normal person would be angry. I just can't be focused on her drama right now, so it is better for me and what I am trying to accomplish if I do not talk to her.

Well, today is Wednesday and day 2 of the Jamie Eason Challenge. I made "oatcakes" out of the egg whites and the oats. I added some cinnamon and nutmeg, then I used my serving of berries with a tbsp of lemon juice and a tbsp of splenda to make a "sauce" to put on top of the oatcakes. I think I should have added some splenda to the oatcakes, but they were edible.

I am still VERY tired this morning. I would love to crawl back in to bed. I may try and drink a cup of coffee with a little splenda in it. Otherwise, the mostly clean eating is a GREAT thing.

    What a great plan! I am so excited for you. I remember last year about this time I gave up soda. I was so tired all the time. But it has certainly improved my overall fitness and health. Blessings on this new chapter in your journey. I will be thinking of you

    Congrats on the new plan. I'm also a coffee drinker and had drifted into the creamer and sweetener routine. I'm (once again) trying to kick the sweetener habit and it's "back to black" for me! (and a big emoticon for getting through the start of school) also, congrats to your son for his yellow belt...which art?
