I had so many fillings and wore braces for so long, when I became an adult I only went to the dentist after a bad wreck and had to get my front teeth fixed..a six tooth bridge..that was almost 25 yrs ago.
My husband had a bad tooth and I had a filling or two fall out, so we made the decision to get Humana dental insurance and get some teeth fixed, filled, pulled and cleaned. Well today was the first visit.. I had anxiety sky high. 25 yrs to say the least I had some phobias. but I survived. The exam went ok and the cleaning wasn't as bad as I remembered.. but I'm sure glad today is done. emoticon

emoticon on starting to get those teeth fixed. It had been close to 40 years for me til I finally gave in and went to a awesome dentist that got me beyond my fears. Now I'm a happy camper chewing everything. Carrots, corn on the cob, steak and apples. Hang in there you'll have them fixed in no time.

emoticon on getting back to the dentist. I'm glad it went well.

I can relate to the dental phobia. I had a very bad experience with a dentist more than 25 years ago that left me with such a fear of the dentist that I'd burst into tears just sitting in the chair, anticipating. A few years ago I finally found a wonderful, painless dentist who has finally helped me get past that fear. I still get a little nervous but nothing like before.
