More energy

Monday, August 29, 2011

I have tried hard to lose weight. Will power is not always there--particularly at night. But rather than focus on weight, I would like to focus on more energy. Maybe they need to be side by side.

I think a personal trainer would be great if I could afford one. My husband and I are on pensions and they do not cover the bills we have now. I guess I get kind of depressed about this and then watch TV and eat. I Hate exercise and that is the main part of the problem. I have to find something to do that I like that is physically active. Catch 22 isn't it--if you don't exercise, you don't have energy; the more you sit and eat the less energy you have. It is a mindset. Must change my mindset. emoticon emoticon

I, too have tried to lose weight, on and off for 55 years. Will power is mostly not there at night. I too would rather forcus on more energy rather than the numbers on the scale. I have diabetis and am on pain meds for diabetic neuropathy plus insulin--I really think these up my appetite in the evening. Keep posting. I wish you luck and will keep watching for your blog.
    Take care. Hugs

I have problems with night time too. I sit down, watch TV, see the food ads and eat. The better choice is to keep that tube turned off and get to bed earlier.

This morning, I took an energy pill my DH got from Swanson - a supplements company. Caffeine and ginseng, basically. Ran around all morning cleaning house like a crazy lady. I doubt you could take it with your health problems. The key to getting energy, though, is to use some. Any upper body exercise you can do will build muscles and boost metabolism, making it easier for the fat to melt away. I hired a personal trainer for an hour to learn what I could do with my physical problems (scoliosis and a bum knee). I've been getting fit and it sure gives me energy. I check in with him every 6 months for an hour to tweak my program. Hope this give you some ideas.

Best wishes! Keep up with SP. We're your friends here!

    In the meantime,
