Think I Guessed Right

When I woke up my quads were still sore. They were sore Saturday when I ran the 6 miles and sore all day Sunday. So I wasn't sure if I should run or not today. I would say it really wasn't pain and definitely was in the muscle. So I decided to try a run and see how it felt. It felt pretty good. I went a total of 4.5 miles in 60 minutes. One mile I ran in just about 8.5 minutes (7 miles per hour). One minute I ran at 7.5 miles per hour, an 8 minute mile pace. I first spent 10 minutes warming up slowly, then walked at 4.5mph, then jogged at 5mph, did my speed work, and then had a long cool down. I did the stretches that Coach Nicole here on SP recommends for runners. Right now my quads feel almost back to normal and my hamstrings feel just a tiny bit tight. Think I guessed right about the run. I'm expecting to be ready for my race on Saturday. I sure would like to set a personal record. We'll see.
