Slow and steady wins the race

Saturday, August 27, 2011

So, I've been at it for a while now. And by a while, I really just mean that I've been doing well for about a week. Ever since last Saturday the only day I didn't work out was Thursday. That is only because I work from 7-3 then I have school from 5-9:30. I have declared Thursday my rest day.
When I started going to the gym last weekend I decided that first that was all I was going to focus on: working out. I will start there.
I know for a fact that with the depression medication I'm on now, and working out 5-6 days a week it will really help with my energy and mood. I know that eating right goes right along with it. I'm just not putting a whole lot of focus on it. And what is kind of funny.... is that it's naturally happening. Small choices that I make are making a difference. Only one piece of sausage at breakfast, and add some fruit in so that I still get the amount of food I need to feel full, but just many less calories. I wish I would have taken a photo of my breakfast, because it was so tasty and everything all together was only 350 calories. Fried egg, sausage, toast, grapes, strawberries and Simply Orange Juice.
Anyway. For the most part I've been feeling good. Work is starting to settle down again. It was so stressful last week, I had had nightmares about it all weekend before last Monday. Thankfully that is over.
We are going to the baseball game today. Even though the Cards haven't been doing very well, it should still be a good time. St. Louis has the best fans :D
I hope everyone has a great day!
