Special bathtub soaking recipe

Friday, August 26, 2011

My favorite end-of-the-day stress relieving activity: soaking in a hot bathtub with a cup of Epsom salts and about a dozen drops of lavender oil. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh! The oil helps relax me and prepare me for sleep, and the Epsom salts help my muscles recover from exercise as well as having some detoxifying properties. This has become my standard operating procedure for soaking in the tub. Without these ingredients, it's just not the same! A couple of yummy smelling candles and soothing music complete the scene.

Now go fill up the tub and soak your cares away! Who needs Calgon anyway?

Saw the title of the bolg and had to stop by. Nothing like relaxing in a hot bathtub. I too have candles around mine and the atmosphere makes for a great environment and reward for resting those exercised muscles. Didn't know about the benefits of epsom salts, I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip.

Perfect! Thank you for sharing this recipe for a relaxing bath. I will need this starting this week when the school year starts for real.

That sounds heavenly. Did you know that you can also use that concoction as a body buff as well. You could add some good quality virgin grape seed oil in with the salt then stand in the empty tub and rub the salt mixture on your skin, not too hard of course. Let it sit for a few minutes then start to fill your tub with water. Continue with your bath and enjoy the benefits of a very smooth feeling skin when you get out. I just love lavender.

Thanks for the reminder of this blissful experience.

I LOVE a hot soak in a tub, especially after a rough day. My friends and family think I'm nuts (except my Mom and Sister - because they love a tubby too).
Glad to know there are other people out there in the world that enjoy it too.
I just got out of mine. Gonna peruse Sparkpeople and then I'm tucking in bed.
Thanks for your blog, you made my evening! emoticon
