A brand new goal

I just read this article on SP about giving yourself a vacation as a reward for meeting a goal. I love this idea! I especially love it cause I'm already planning a mini-vacay and I like that I can attach a mini-goal to go along with it. If I don't reach my goal, does that mean I can't take the vacation? I hope not. I mean, I make the rules right? I say that as long as I make *some* progress then I can take the vacation. That's a good compromise.

OK, so here is the goal: Right now I'm hovering around 220 and have been for a while. If I can lose just five pounds by October 1 that would be phenomenal. That means one pound a week. It's doable. I haven't been able to successfully do that yet but that's what this goal is for. In order to achieve this goal, I will do cardio 4-5 times a week and ST 3 times a week. ST is my nemesis. I hate doing it. I need to do both in order to meet this goal though. Also, I want to take at least one class a week at the gym. I still really want to try the Slim & Strong class at my gym. Why can't I wake up early enough to get there? I need to stop with the excuses and just DO IT!

When (not if) I meet this goal, I will take a girls' trip down to Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC during the Columbus Day weekend (that is, if I have Monday off). There's a really great reason why I want to go down there. It may or may not have to do with a boy. I will neither confirm nor deny this information. Anyway, wish me luck!

Addendum: I was given a fantastic suggestion from CHEETARA79 that I should make this about meeting my fitness goals and not the weight loss. The weight loss would be a bonus. =)

    Love it, love it, love it ... I too struggle with ST ... sigh ... I know I need to but I just don't enjoy it ... maybe we can motivate each other or be accountability partners for ST ... what do ya think?

    You will love Charleston or Savannah! They are both AWESOME! And what a great goal! Take lots of pictures because you will get there!

    What a great reward! Heading down south right when the weather is getting yucky in NY is a perfect idea.

    While I am not a fan of scale-related goals, I think 5 pounds is reasonable. But if you change your mind, maybe you could reward yourself for hitting those fitness goals you listed?

    Yess!! I am all about taking a trip. if I hit my goal weight by Thanksgiving I plan on goign to Vegas!! You should come!
