My heart was pounding SO hard this morning at 4 AM

It all started, because I decided to lose weight. I found Sparkpeople. I drank lots of water...
I live on a tropical island. I came from the frozen North. In the Frozen frozen north we don't have a lot of big bugs. The most annoying bug is the mosquito. In Alaska the mosquito is the state bird. or bug at any rate. The horrible blood suckers are so bad that eventually you just try bribing them... with your first born or better yet the neighbor's kid. By mid summer. you have mad ninja mosquito killing skills. This so does not prepare you for life out side of Alaska, where big scary big gross big huge giant bugs live.
On a tropical island when is comes to bugs, you have a few choices. You can ignore them. You can scream like a little girl- or in my case a big girl. Finally, you can just call them friends and kiss them on the cheek. Islanders are very big on cheek kissing, true story, they are a friendly lot.
So anyway, last night at 4 AM, I had to go use the toilet. It wasn't pitch dark. I know the layout of my house. I decided to go without turning on the lights. Why hurt my eyes? So I did my business, washed my hands, and then as I was leaving the bathroom something crawled over my foot.
I screamed, ran out into the hall, saw whatever is was (no glasses on), was following me, screamed again. My 4 year old screamed. I told her I was fine, then screamed for my husband. I went to my daughter. He slayed the beast.
My heart is racing thinking about it. Heebie Jeebies. Creepy. It came in through the bathroom window. I was awake until 7:30 and then got 2 more hours of sleep.
Not the cardio workout that I want!
