True Weight...

I found my last scale weight "520lbs" this was at least 6 to 8 weeks ago. I had no care about eating right and was kicking in whole pizzas. When I signed up I put 480 and had just hoped that I would get there soon enough.

Though if this is gonna be about a life change I have to change everything even the mindset about having bad days and feeling bad when I eat to much or make poor choices.

That said I weighed into today at 492. So I have lost 28lbs "truthfully", which is cool, though I had a bad calorie day with lunch and think I am done with eating out. It sort of feels like I am playing Russian Roulette with "good intentions".

I see the blood sugar below 150 and get that false feeling of "good" When in reality I could easily be fluxuating because of the different carbs.

    Congrats on the 28 lbs weight loss. I agree its really hard eating out when your a clean diet, so I completely understand. I always try to avoid food that are bad for me. I can honestly say since changing my diet i'm feeling much healthier

    I don't want you to feel like you can NEVER eat out, but I do think it might benefit you to cut back on how often you eat out a little bit. I actually kind of see eating out as a pain in the butt. I have to wrack my brain to try to think of something I can eat that will A) taste good B) be good for me and C) not blow my calorie budget. It's often easier to just wait until I get home and can make something that I know the calorie content of. That said, when I do eat out, I either stick to salads, or I look for the "light" menu if they have one, or ask for nutritional information if I need to. Eating out IS like playing Russian Roulette. It's happened to me one too many times that I thought I was making healthy choices and had the best of intentions and then discovered my food was really high in calories anyway. (For example, a grilled chicken is not always 'safe.' Many restaurants have huge portions--like 8 oz, when 4 would suffice.)

    It'd be different if we only ate out once a year. But if we're eating out once a week or more, we do have to be conscious of what we're putting in our bodies, in my opinion.

    X, I've been following your blogs for about a week now and thought I'd come out of the woodwork. I too have been overweight for a long time and started on August 1 at 445 pounds, as of last Sunday I was at 414 pounds. Diabetes and heart disease runs on my father's side of the family and I've had some problems with the heart most notably atrial fibrulation. I've been lucky to have escaped the diabetes.

    Yes, you have to change your mindset. You have to say "NO" to people that may love you and yet sabotage you. You have to say "NO" to eating out unless you're sure what you order is good for you.

    I can't go to a regular restaurant for the most part because I don't know how items are really prepared, especially in Chinese restaurants/buffets. People bad rap fast food places, but the do furnish nutrition information.

    I've taken that weight roller coaster for an extra long ride. It's time for me to step off and find my footing and to get my life back. Like you, I've been given a lot of chances but my luck may run out. I hope to beat this obsession of staying overweight into the ground and I hope, wish and pray that you do too!

    Ooooooooooooooh, 28 pounds is freakin' awesome! Way to go, babe!!!! :) Love the honesty. You need that to keep up with your stuff, too. YAY! You BETTER be smiling about losing that weight, dang it! That's great! :D Proud of youuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

    You can still eat out sometimes and do what you're doing. The more you do things, the more you will learn. Keep going, sweets! This "journey" (even if you think it sounds stupid... LIFE is a journey!) is all about learning, growing, and going forward... which is what you are doing. Last week, would you have even cared what you ate yesterday? Would you have cared what your sugar reading was? Would you even think about how you are feeling, etc? I'm guessing "no"... so... welcome to the new you, babe! XOXOXOXO
