A lady who belongs to our church and who I have known for many years is in the
hospital she had either had a stroke which led to a heart attack or vice versa in any event
she fell and was badly bruised and she was not found for a day and a half , which makes
her recovery that much harder. Since I live alone [and maybe many of you do to] it is time
to think of a way to make sure that does not happen to us.

That is a good plan. We have told all of our neighbors if you need us call us any time but that does not work for a person alone. There has to be a better way, if there is we will find it, Good idea Pat in Maine, emoticon

My Mum lives on her own as do several of her friends. They have a routine each morning where at a certain time, the first person phones their nominated person & lets it ring 3 times, that person then does the same to the next one on the list & so on until the last person phones the originator. If the originator doesn't get a call within 30 minutes they can start checking up on what's happened. Using this system means that it costs no money & yet it really works.
My Mums' neighbour also checks that my Mum has opened her bedroom curtains every day & has both my brother & my phone numbers.

No one wants to go through that, that's for sure. Hopefully she'll be all right. It's good to think of things to take care of ourselves BEFORE they happen, not after.
