Over this past weekend, I ripped the sole of right running shoe. I was able to super glue it back to the shoe, but this did convince me that my shoes were indeed due for replacement. I run in Newton shoes which encourage natural running which is in sync with the Chi Running system that I use. So last night on my way home from work, I stopped off at our local running store. I showed the owner my old running shoes to see what he thought of my wear pattern and to make sure that I was in shoes that fit me. He was very very happy with my wear pattern but was baffled by the damage to the shoe. Anyway, we discussed by running goals and decided that I am in fact in a good shoe for my gait and goals.
Today was day one in the new shoes. It was nice to be in a brand new pair. On this pair, I am going to keep track of my mileage. I didn't do that at all on my last pair.
I also actually registered for the race that I'm training for. So now it is official. I have paid my money so I better stick with it and get myself ready to do it! Feeling really good about it!
