Night Time Eating Strikes Again

This is one I really thought I had cured but hell no.

3 days running I reckon I,ve consummed at least 500 calories just before bed.

This has always been one of my biggest demons especially when feeling low but I worked so hard to fight it and I thought I was cured.

The good news I suppose is that I've caught it early this time and can start the fight again.

ANy good ideas - anybody done hynotherapy?

    Night time eating is a big one for me too - usually at night its something crunchy or something sweet (crisps and chocolate). Recently a friend of mine went to a cognative behaviour theropist to help her stop smoking - she was told that everytime she gets a craving to distract herself by doing something she has put off, or cleaning something or clearing something away, the craving will only last 2-3 mins. She said it worked and the time between cravings has become much longer.

    I decided to apply this approach to my night time eating. For the past 3 weeks I have only given in once and you would not believe how sparkling clean the bathroom and kitchen are, and how tidy my house is (not easy with a 3 year old running around).

    Other than this the only other thing that has worked has been good old fashioned will power (which hasnt really worked as it only lasts for part of the week).

    What have you tried? I distract myself usually by reading and posting on this site. But trust me, it's an ongoing battle for me too. Night time is the hardest time.
