Back from vacation

Yesterday was our 1 year wedding anniversary. My husband and I have been together for 16 years now, so it was a bit odd to be celebrating 1 year, but hey - any excuse for a party!
We went to Vegas and stayed at the Venetian. It was nice. I love Vegas and the Venetian was opulently awesome. Where else can you people watch, gamble, drink/eat too much, see great shows and shoot fully automatic weapons? Is it any wonder I try to visit once every year or two?
Yup. That's what I did. I dragged my husband to:
the atomic testing museum (educational)
a cigar factory/store (interesting, but we totally felt out of place)
several malls (vacations aren't complete without some shopping)
gambling (he hates watching the money disappear)
yummy food/drinks at my favorite bar & grill
the Blue Man Group (it's a fun show)
a spa (he hated it)
a gun range (lots of fun)
a fancy dinner (such awesomely unhealthy food, including pancetta wrapped meatloaf)
the improv show (funny, and they made fun of me for being a librarian)
Neither of us had shot a gun before. We found a place that provides guns, ammo and an instructor for a (pricey) fee. We each did the zombie package, which involved shooting a 1911 .45 ACP (handgun), Remington 870 12 Gauge (shotgun), HK33 (rifle) and an Uzi 9mm (machine gun), and gave us zombie targets and "certified zombie killer" t-shirts as souvenirs. It was a lot of fun, and I could see myself learning about the weapons, safety, and perfecting my aim. I can also see needing a lot more upper body strength than I have - the rifle got heavy by the 15th shot!
I was showing my coworkers pictures of me with big guns. They all thought it was hilarious. Apparently I don't look like the "typical" gun type. Several were trying to figure out ways to use oversized prints to intimidate people into paying their fines, return their books on time, and do their timesheets. The guys were disappointed that I didn't bruise my shoulder or otherwise injure myself. Apparently I also look like the type to get hurt when shooting at zombie cutouts.
I didn't have time to prep healthy foods for the week when we got home from the airport yesterday. I resorted to eating leftover pizza from the party we had for our volunteers at work today, and then bean with bacon soup and grilled cheese for dinner tonight. Tomorrow there will be enough time to stop at the store and pick up salad, meat, veggies and other healthy stuff... so healthy eating restarts with the morning.
Until then, it's time for bed. Waking up bright and early to jog - I've only got a month and a half to train for my 10k. It's time to get back to it!
