Hefty Lunch

We took a break mid day for lunch and it was like I was back on food auto pilot. We went to a local Chinese venue and I scanned the menu for anything I could pronounce and settled on Seasame Chicken. So this turns out to be a saucey sweet chicken and a good serving of friend rice. All in all I should end my eating here as I am right at 1800.

Its funny because I have also been on and off my feet all day as well. So that should help and would explain why I have not crashed at all.

I am thinking this is going to be a long road to building a subconcious choice to choose the right stuff and just not what is in front of me in a rush.

    It's difficult to change habits. You have had them all of your life, so of course you aren't going to change them overnight. Next time just try to aim for something not breaded and fried... like chicken and broccoli or something. They are all loaded with sodium, but you want to aim for less fried (that's key!). I never eat all of my rice or anything when someone gets me Chinese food. I stick with Wonton or Egg Drop soup and some lean meat and veggies as much as possible. Dont feel bad for it. Forgive yourself and move on ;)

    It's tough. I sometimes wonder if it will always be astruggle to not eat the crap that's in front of us. Every once and awhile it's okay to endulge, but it's important that we're able to get back to clean eating immediately. That's the trick.

    At least you recognized that you could have made a better choice. That's a good step forward. I imagine you went longer than usual without eating today and probably we're very hungry by the time you stopped to eat. Your brain was on hungry auto pilot. Try eating something that will stick with you before class. I use to eat a bowl of oatmeal and a banana before class and packed several bottles of water to sip during class. You can and will find something that works for you. Honestly, I write the word PIG on my right wrist in red ink everyday. I am right handed and seeing that word reminds me to think about what I am eating and doing. I know its harsh but it is working. Sometimes I draw a cute piggy to go with it. LOL. Just find what works for you. Good luck Sweetness. emoticon
