Just a Fluctuation

Yesterday I reported that I had weighed more than at any morning weigh in 2011. I weighed over my target range of 124-129.9. I ate plenty of healthy food yesterday, eating around the top of my calorie range. Yet I was down 3.2 pounds and back in my range this morning. Maybe the running caused water retention. I'm not sure.

But I know I've been kind of sloppy tracking and measuring this last week, so that is where I should improve. If I'm balancing calories in and calories out, I would know that any sudden gain is a fluctuation . Anyway, I'm delighted to be back in range so quick!

    Could well have been water retention, great that you're back in range.
    My weight flucuates by 3 pounds sometimes and I still can't figure it emoticon

    So glad you are back in your range. Weight fluctuations are all too common and can be due to any number of reasons. This is why once a week weigh ins is all I will do to keep my sanity lol. So far so good anyway. As careful as you look at every little thing you do in your healthy lifestyle, the simple answer may be did you hydrate enough? I always drink about four cups of water over time before I begin my exercise, then, every 20 minutes I will take 2 cups more if I am having an intense workout. I also hydrate after the workout is done. To know if you are doing it properly, Sparks advises you to weigh yourself before your run and then after. If you have lost weight then you didn't hydrate well enough and we all know what a pain water retention is..

    That certainly looks like a fluctuation, a gain or loss of 3.2 pounds would mean 11,200 calories above or below your normal range.

    There are so many different factors in weight differential during the day. I've been reading up on it. That's why I'm not stressed out about it anymore. I'm getting good at taking it down. In any case, you'll be fine, Marsha!

    so good for you to be back in your range. i know for me it can be a scary thing when i think i am eating right and exercising and the scale goes up. but our bodies do fluctuate everyday.
