Lunch break sunshine.

So, I've got a new mindset (actually, it's my old, positive mindset that has come back). When I was at my last job, I would look at the clock and get so anxious and/or upset that I had to go to work in 4 HOURS. 4 HOURS!!!! I'd get worked up with 4 HOURS off left!!! And now, I'm happy that I have 3 minutes left to sit in the sun before heading back to work. How CRAZY is that?? I really think that when you're happy where you're at, and really appreciating the little things, stuff like TIME is sooo wonderful. A little bit more time to do something you love, is like finding $5 in your pocket that you forgot about. Or getting a free drink at Starbucks because they happened to make an extra of exactly what you want...or they're just feeling generous. It's like, you budget yourself some time to really enjoy what you're doing, like that day when I walked to Starbucks. I was perfectly happy with walking/running back and having to rush back up to the office to change. Perfectly happy! But what a great extra bonus to find that I had 3 EXTRA minutes to enjoy some peace and quiet and sunshine! What a gift!! Yay!

So today, I've had a headache most of the day already. I was a little sad about it since I have my 25 minute run tonight (!!!) (W6D3!). I wanted to be able to do it well, but the headache might hold me back. So I posted it on my Sparkpeople status, and got a suggestion from REEKU731 of water as well as some caffeine. So I decided I'd walk down to the Starbucks on campus, get an iced coffee, and sit outside in the sun. WELL. By the time I got down near that Starbucks, I had decided that I'd just drive out to my favorite Starbucks (the one I walked to to the other day) and sit on the porch in the sun like I LOOOOOOVE to do. I didn't have my journal, but I brought my ipod and I changed into a spaghetti strap and shorts so I could get a little tan. It was WONDERFUL! I ate my pb&honey, carrots and grape tomatoes and pear tomatoes, and drank my tall iced coffee with cream and 1/2 the sweet syrup they put in.

I left a little early in case I had to park further away (if someone took my spot or there were no other spots left in my normal parking lot). I got back and there was a spot just for me! So I walked back and still had about 5-6 minutes to sit outside with my back to the sun (to even things out a bit) and enjoy a couple more songs on my ipod. It was sooooooo nice. :) And I'm feeling loads better after my iced coffee, the sunshine, and the peace and quiet away from campus and work. Yay!

Now I'm back at it, and I'm THINKING that the day's going faster... I think. Haha. Yesterday, I was able to sit in the sun at lunch, but I was with a friend, and we didn't walk or move at all for the hour. Then the afternoon went SOOOOOOOOOO slowwwwwwwww. It was tough. But at least I got the vitamin D!

Happy day! emoticon (That's me all tan and happy!)

That's nice. I remember feeling like that earlier this year but we had a house fire in February and I've been tense and uneasy since. I'm working on it and it's settling. I am so happy for you though. Keep going and continue to share that happy, beautiful smile of yours. You are an inspiration. emoticon

I saw in your status that you squashed the 25-minute monster! I am so excited for you! There is no feeling like it. I know once you get to that point that you realize that you are actually going to make it, you say to yourself, "Is this really ME doing this? Could I possibly be an athlete?" And the answer to that, my friend, is an emphatic YES!!!!!!!!!!
