Planting fall bulbs/rhizomes

Thursday, August 18, 2011

It is a beautiful 83 degrees.. so much better than last week's 100+ days. I was able to plant some iris today. I grew about 15 or 20 colors and added some named varieties to the ground today.. Iris have such yummy names, butterscotch, boysenberry, corn harvest, afternoon delight, to name a few.. they are some of my pride and joy and I can hardly wait to see blooms next May. I hope to be 50 lbs lighter by then, too. So far the water is making me go go go and the calorie counting is keeping me on track , and I'm doing some light exercise daily- but the scale has barely budged in over a week now. Check out some of my photos of my pretty iris.

Iris are such pretty flowers. I wish I grew more flowers but the deer think everything I plant is their lunch, and dinner and breakfast!
