I L♥VE MY SISTER...but first, I must vent...

Picture of my sister and me many years ago

So I just finished day 6 of Jillian Michael's...

Now I don't want to discourage anyone, but each day is NOT getting easier for me.

Problem # 1:
I feel bad every time I don't do the workouts the way she does...or maybe I should say, the way she DOESN'T... The first day I was listening to the workouts it was great hearing Jillian explain everything, but each day after day one I found my frustration growing as I realized that Jillian was doing more explaining than she was the actual workout. Anita and Natalie have my respect, but Jillian stop talking and sweat with me...

PROBLEM #2 – PUSH-UPS
Honestly, I really need not say anything else, but just in case you don’t understand the problem. My body doesn’t do push-ups. Well the first day it was able to spit out a few, but since day one my muscles feel so sore, I end up doing the modified pushups and sticking my booty so high in the air just to avoid falling on my face and breaking my nose.

PROBLEM #3 – PRE-WORKOUT ANXIETY/PAIN…
Each evening right before it is time to begin my workout, my head begins to hurt, my muscles ache, and I just don’t want to do it…
All that being said…now it’s time for me to explain the subject of this post:

WHY I LOVE MY SISTER:
On Day 2 of my workout with Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred, I gave my sister a call letting her know I had lost 6 pounds and that I was working out every day. She then challenged me by saying, “If you work out everyday for a month, I’ll get you a new exercise outfit.” Now that may not sound like a big deal to you, but I think part of one’s motivation for working out comes from feeling like they look good in their workout outfit. Since I started this, I’ve been wearing the same workout clothes each day and just washing them, but now I’ll have options. Thanks sis!

So…
WHAT OUTFIT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD HAVE MY SISTER GET?

Do NOT feel bad about not being able to do the pushups. Many women myself included cannot do a full pushup. We just don't have the upper body strength naturally that men do. KEEP IT UP with your workouts! Once you get to the end of the 30 days you will have such a a sense of accomplishment--and a new exercise outfit!

Regarding pushups--do them properly (not on your knees!) but do them on an incline. Start with a wall if you have to! Or a kitchen counter...or a low coffee table. Don't place your hands too high, and remember to keep your core super super tight :) You can gradually work up to lower and lower inclines...and then eventually do them flat on the ground! emoticon
