GOOD AFTERNOON___

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Hello Ladies.

I went to Indy last fri. afternoon. Came home Sunday afternoon.

Saturday morning Christine and I got away just the 2 of us. We went shopping and elsewhere. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. But, was on the feet for too long. When we got back I asked her if she had anything else planned for us for the day. She said no. I quietly said to myself. PTL!!! We spent rest of the day quietly.

About 8:40 p.m. I was witness to the most strange happening I have ever seen in my 71 yrs. on this earth! It was gradually getting nighttime. Christine and I were watching TV seated on recliners in the family room [lower level]. There on the right was the normal night sky. On the left was a black. rolling monster of a cloud. It looked straight out of a weather movie! Then, the wind started. All over the time the camopy at the Indiana Fairgrounds! went down!..Then, the rain but, the rain wasn't all that bad. Finally the storm. Thunder and lightning. Then, it was gone as fast as it came.

The grandson was on the upper level in his room. {tri level]. He knew better, but, he was leaning on the alumium windowsill. Well, needless to say, he got a shock!!! I didn't see him near a window after that!

We were 5 miles away from the fairgrounds. Strangest storm I have ever seen!

Sunday morning Christine and the girls and I went to Church. In the afternoon Christine, the 7 yr old and I went to an ice cream social at her school. She and her brother started school today. The graduate starts college next week.

Blessings,
Janet

What a weird storm. I'm glad your grandson didn't get hurt. I guess he won't be doing that again. My kids went back today. I am glad. I needed a break. My knee is finally better.

My co worker went through a terrible hail storm Sunday Took a tree & it came up out of the ground onto their truck, destroyed their grill, but the awful thing she said they were running around to close their windows then she tried to close the front door, she said the wind was so strong & the hail comimg into the house she was screaming for her husband she said they both had to push on the door to get it closed. They were out of power for awhile until the next day. No one was hurt & I am happy you all are okay. The hail destroyed the one farmers crops they sell at their farm store, she was on tv crying we all feel bad for them. They have crop damage insurance but it will not cover all of the loss.Take care

I am so glad you all are OK. What a horrific thing to have happened. Looks like people are trying to find fault with the way the grandstand was set up when in fact, it appears to be just a freak of nature which caused the canopy to collapse. My heart goes out to the victims and the survivors. What a horrible thing to witness.

Take care and again, so glad you all are OK.

That was some storm; I saw the coverage on the Weather Channel; so sad that people lost their lives.

That was an amazing weather event and to think you were witness and that g'son was almost "nailed". So glad he is alright. As you say time moves on. Seems impossible fall and school time is here again.
Blessings to you and yours. Brenda
