August 14th - Summer is Over!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Today was the last day of Summer Vacation for our daughter. She starts second grade tomorrow. Getting her to bed on time was a little tougher than I'd hoped for but a lot easier than I'd expected. She was out like a light within 10 minutes of laying down.

Daisha got home from her sleepover around 11 this morning. We hung out around the house for a little while then spent a couple of hours at the pool. It's been a fun and relaxing weekend for our family. Tony got to spend a few hours alone yesterday, which he was in desperate need of with the hours he's put in at work. He went out to the gun range and blew off some steam (quite literally). It's back to a normal routine for everyone tomorrow.

Keiran's fever has finally stayed down today with no meds. Now we're just trying to get him out of "crabby-man mode" and back to eating like he needs to. Tony is worried about him becoming dehydrated since he hasn't been wanting to eat or drink anything the last few days. That's my biggest goal for tomorrow.

I have managed to squeeze some cardio in today and a little bit of strength training. I'll be doing a few more strength moves after I finish typing this blog up. One thing I have started working on this weekend is getting my regular blog reconstructed so I can get it back up and running. I was doing a photography project last year called Project 365. It's essentially posting a photo each day. It sounds like it would be easy but I found it more difficult than expected. In addition to my photography, I love to spend time in the kitchen (baking more than anything) and doing crafts. I'm going to set up pages on my own personal blog for each of my loves. Once it's launched I'll let everyone know here. This is still one blog I will definitely continue on with regardless. I've found that it helps to keep me focused on what my workouts and why I'm doing them. And with the holidays coming all too quickly, I'll need all the focus I can get!

Glad to hear that Keiran is doing much better. Good luck with the "Crabby~Man~Mode" adjustment. When my kids are sick they have two modes:

#1 I need to be attached to momma's hip

#2 My life is rough and I want everyone to feel my pain

Neither one is very fun to say the least.

I look forward to seeing your photography and your new blogs. I tried that, but couldn't commit to it regularly. I need to since writing/blogging is definitely my outlet and the way I express myself most effectively.
