Twilight Challenge Photo Blog - Your best places to work out in the summer

This is a week late but better late than never.......

Last weeks photo challenge was to blog about your favorite places to work out. This was my favorite one! I didn't get to each spot to take pictures but I do have a few to show.

Most of my workouts happen at the downtown St. Paul, MN YMCA. I meet up with my BFF and we workout during our lunch breaks. We like to mix it up and will do plenty of cardio and strength training. It is great to have a workout buddy to keep me motivated. We also have a running group that we try to meet up during the week at least 2-3 times. It is a pretty big group! We run outside a lot during the summer but we don't let the spring, fall, and winter hold us back. We are the crazy ones running out there at zero degree temps all bundled up. It is fun to run in the snow!

We have a lot of routes and try to mix it up every week. Some of our fun runs we have include stairs. We have one route that takes us through 446 stairs. We start running down by the river and go up the Science Museum stairs....There are exactly 144 stairs to run up here.

Then we run over to United Hospital and run up the James J Hill stairs. This one is a climb! I can usually start running but then have to go to a walk. They are tough! There are 186 stairs on this climb.....

We then run over to the Capital for some more stair fun. There are 52 stairs here...

We finish our run with heading back to the YMCA and to complete our stair run with 64 stairs to the top of the main lobby area of the Y. This run is almost 4 miles too!

I also love to bike and hike outdoors as much as possible. It is just fun taking your workout outside!

This is the end of the challenge photo blog series and I must say that I really enjoyed it! I may try to do this more often. It was fun visiting my favorite places to exercise and taking pictures. I also was able to share with my hubby and kids everything I do during my work day. The food photo blogs were a lot of fun as well.     Love your pictures -- wow! Lots of stairs!!! My family lived in Minn/StPaul when I was a toddler. I love to visit there in the summer...the winter...not so much!! Too cold for this Texas girl! emoticon
