Life has a way of taking twists and turns....

I have a few minutes to post a blog today....something I haven't done in what seems like forever.

Life here at our new(ish) house has been busy. Lots of outdoor activities...swimming, cookouts and camping out and the continued ball games. Thankfully, maintaining my weight has been much easier this time. We've been very active and making healthy eating choices. That is the key!

Now life is taking another turn for me. We are starting a new year of schooling for the children. Although I've taught the children for the last nine years, this is the first time that we've switched curriculum and who we report to. I have two children doing high school classes through our local school, but they are online at home and the other four are doing K12. I've never worked with two different styles at the same time. Whew!!! I'm praying it goes well. :)

As usual, we are still playing ball. My oldest DD is playing her last tournament and then, it's onto fall softball (and weight-training and conditioning for next year's softball season for the high school) and the two older boys are having their first football game in two weeks.

I've prayed and prayed about it and was led to take time off from sewing for others. I've been sewing for over 12 years and although I feel like it's in my blood, I need to make sure I'm ready for this school year and for my children. For a season.....

So...that's where I'm at. Happy, loving the life Jesus has gifted me with, thoroughly enjoying the family I have surrounding me. :) See...BIG smiles!!!

Love you all bunches!!

It sounds like you're ready to take on the challenges and changes. It's probably a good idea to clear your calendar for a time, until you can all adjust to the new program. I still wish I had your energy!

I have no doubt that while things are a bit different, you and the kids are enjoying getting the new school year under way and you'll work your way through it together. The twists and turns always get me for a time too. I've got to pace myself with how much time I can devote to the new homeschool group each day/week or it will crush me!

I do have our unit studies figured out and the outlines made for them so that's a big sigh of relief. We never did get through our math books last year so we'll just keep plugging along!

You really are blessed, and it is good you can see it! I need to be more mindful of my blessings, especially when it looks like things are going so wrong sometimes. I am sure it's a lot to do with how we're looking at the big picture! You're going to have a great school year! emoticon

Aw, thank you for sharing all that has been happening with you guys. Sounds like this fall will have a learning curve for mom :-) All will work out great. Good luck to all the kids in their sports. My oldest is on the swim team, and my youngest plays soccer so we are gearing up for our seasons too. Hugs

I homeschooled 2 of my DD's through HS and they were completely independent by the time they reached HS. I did the IUHS curriculum(online) for them. They are now 19 and 20 and starting their 3rd and 4th yr of college. I would focus on the younger ones and see how the HSers work on their own.
