Paleo and a 10K

I don't know why I haven't been sparking, but I know I need to get back to it. It's hard to lead a healthy lifestyle if you're eating everything in sight and avoiding exercise like the plague. And when you spark, you're at least thinking about being healthy, right?
Let's see.... what's happened since June 24th?
Well, I celebrated my 31st birthday.
I went on a couple little stay-cations to Campbell.
I ignored proper nutrition and exercise.
I went to Vegas.
I got subpoenaed.
I applied for a promotion and was turned down.
I had a crazy lady question my morals (to my face) because she didn't like that her husband was checking me out.
I went to a wedding.
I argued with my family.
I made the decision to place my mom in a board and care home for people with dementia.
I was complimented, hit on, thanked, appreciated, and loved.
It's been a busy couple of months.
Throughout it all I've known that I wasn't eating the right foods, and that I wasn't moving my body. It's like the "anti-health gremlin" decided to take up residence in my brain, and I'm not sure why.
Is it laziness? Frustration? Exhaustion? Boredom? Loneliness? Maybe it's all of the above.
So I've been looking at different diets and I came across the Paleo diet. It sounds like something I could do and my doctor agrees that it would be a good one to try, especially since my stomach has started hating dairy, processed foods, and grain based products - all of which the Paleo diet cuts out.
DH will eat whatever I put in front of him, so I'll start cooking these foods on my next grocery day (Sunday). I also have until then to figure out how to order at restaurants, since we have a standing weekly date night that involves going out to eat.
I also signed up for a 10K. My first one ever. It's the Livermore Grape Stomp on October 23. So I have until then to re-learn how to run 6.2 miles.
Wish me luck on both the Paleo stuff and the training stuff. I hope I can stick with it all this time and be successful.
