August 9th - UGH!

Tuesday, August 09, 2011

I have to say that my big workout plans for this week are not quite working out. Keiran is still sick and has a fever. Unfortunately, he's not cooperating about taking meds today like he did yesterday. :( Tony and I alternated last night staying up with him because he wasn't sleeping good at all. He has been tolerable to the cool compresses, which is about the only thing helping to keep the fever at a manageable level for the moment.

I realized late last night that registration at Daisha's school started earlier than I thought, and since Tony didn't have to work until 10am, I chose to get up and go to the school this morning rather than taking him to work, thus, dragging the kids around with me. It was a fairly painless process - all I had to do was take 2 current proofs of residency (something we have to go through every year), pick up the packet of paperwork, and check the bus schedule. No changes so we're good! I stopped by and said hello to Barbara, Daisha's 1st grade teacher (yes, we were on a first name basis by the end of the last school year). She was happy to hear that for the most part, Daisha has had a good summer (as far as her behavior goes) since we'd had so many issues throughout the year last year. She also told me she'd checked the roster yesterday and as of right now, Daisha will have Mrs. Parnell for 2nd grade, which is who she wanted! That made my girl very happy. She does know that it could still change but hopefully it won't. We will find out for sure on Thursday afternoon for Meet the Teacher.

I'm hoping to muster up the energy to get some kind of a workout done today, though it won't likely be a very good one. I am exhausted from taking care of my lil man so we'll have to wait and see how far I get. He's been curled up on my lap or on the bed with me for most of the day (again) so I've been fighting just to stay awake. And with Daisha home still, it's hard to fall asleep and leave her unwatched - she's a sneaky thing. :)

Nope... he wouldn't care. I tricked him though - I mixed some grape motrin in a bowl with a crushed up grape popsicle. Thirty minutes later and his fever is starting to go back down. :)

Would it help pretending the doctor called to ask after him and said he HAS to take medicine? Hope he's on the mend soon!

As much as I always feel bad when my boys get sick, I definitely don't mind the quiet and the cuddle time. I hope he gets better soon!
