August 6 - Today and My Week in Review

Today has been another productive one. I managed to finally get the baseboards in my dining room painted, plus I did the entire hallway. I also finished the reconstruction part of the Dresser-to-Desk project and got 2 coats of paint applied to it. It has been a busy couple of days and I'm ready for a break from it all tomorrow. My in-laws were supposed to come over but aren't going to make it. Tony has to work a 12-hour shift and it's our 5-yr anniversary. What a fun day it's going to be!?!
The first week of August has been off to a great start. Let's take a look at my goals and see how I've fared so far:
- Complete at least 60 mins of cardio 6 days per week. ----->
Since this week was only 6 days long, I was shooting for 5 of the 6. I actually managed to get in at least the 60 minutes for 4 days. I got in a few for the 5th day, but nowhere near 60.
- Complete Strength Training at least 5 days per week. ----->
Again, I was shooting for 4 of the 6 for the first week. I got in ST 3 days. Today would be the 4th but my muscles are aching from all the painting and deep-cleaning in the last 2 days.
- Get outdoors to exercise at least 1 day per week. ----->
- Get in 10,000 steps everyday. ----->
This one doesn't seem to be a problem on the days that I'm working out. On my off days it's been a little tougher to get in the 10,000 steps.
- Get in 8 glasses of water everyday. ----->
- No eating after 9pm. ----->
This has been a big issue this week for me.
- Lose 5 lbs or 5 inches (since I'll be focusing more on my strength training and I know that muscle weighs more than fat). ----->
This one is hard to say right now since I haven't stepped on my scale all week (except for doing Wii Fit) nor have I taken my measurements. We'll find out for sure at the end of the month.
All in all, I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped to be, but not a bad start either! For next week, I really want to focus on cutting out my snacking after 9pm. I have been an insomniac this week, which means that I'm getting hungry because I'm awake. Not that Week 1 is ending, it's time to bring on Week 2 - I'm ready to kick it into an even higher gear so let's do this!!!
