Another step on the journey.

First off I want to thank all of you who sent me sparkgoodies and well wishes for my two year sparkversary. I greatly appreciate all the good feelings and glad tidings. Things have been a little crazy lately and I have not been as active on the site as I wish that I was. I have decided that that will have to change. I miss my time on Spark and I need to make time to visit, I need it to continue my journey with any chance of success.

I have had some health issues lately that have made it hard to exercise, so naturally I have put weight back on. Ok, I will deal with that and it will come off again. Unfortunately it never comes off as fast as it goes on. I have gotten most of my health issues cleared up and what is left I will just have to work around. My biggest asset to my plan to get back on track is my new pup Mocha. She is only six months old and has lots of energy so we go for walks. We just got back from our walk this morning and we walked for thirty minutes at a pretty brisk pace. We were both ready for a drink of water when we got home. We only stopped twice so she could meet some other dogs. She does so well on the walks and doesn't pull and jerk that I really enjoy walking with her. Her and I go by ourselves for our power walks then we will go later in the evening with my sister and her dog for our social walk. That walk is a more laid back pace and she can sniff to her hearts content then. Going on our walks is getting my body and my mind back into the pattern that I had before, being active.

I have picked up so many good habits from my time with Sparkpeople and I find that I am using them with out thinking now. I have greatly increased my water intake and now to me it is natural to order water instead of coffee in a restaurant. I have a 16oz water bottle at work that I will fill usually four times a day and I drink more water at home now instead of coffee. I may only have three cups of coffee a day now where before I had that much before nine a.m.. I pay close attention to my portion size and don't just snack aimlessly. I keep plenty of fresh or frozen fruit in the house for snacks also. I always eat breakfast now and have fruit for lunch. I try to eat the same thing for lunch at work and I find that it helps reduce cravings for me.

The biggest benefit that I have gotten from Sparkpeople tho is all the support from all of you. You all help me get through the rough times and are there to listen when I just need to get it off my chest. It helps so much knowing that you are all there with your well wishes and prayers when they are needed. The Spark family is the best around, there for a laugh or a hug, whichever you need. You offer encouragement and share ideas and never do you criticise to harshly. I for one am glad that I am on this journey with all of you. Thanks.
