I Gave Up On Me or How My Beloved Carbs Bit Me In The Bum

I haven't been on SparkPeople for about 6 weeks now. Back in the spring things just started to go pear shaped with problems heaped on top of problems and I just gave up on me. I had been starting to struggle a bit with maintaining my healthier lifestyle even before that.
I am amazed at how easy it was to quietly slip back into old eating habits. Fruit and veggies went out the window and all those yummy carbs that I CRAVE started packing on the pounds. So I have gone from the 159 pounds that I worked so hard to attain up to 174. At least I am thankful that I am not back up to the 200 pounds I started SP with.
Exercise has been a struggle too because part of my pile of problems has been a pulled muscle and spasms in my back. But I am trying to get that daily exercise in, I just don't enjoy it anymore. (Yea, surprisingly, I had kind of grown to enjoy it.)
I never did attain my goal weight of 149. And right now getting down to 149 seems impossible to me. So, I am going to start trying to take baby steps to get back to my healthier eating and exercise.
The main thing I have learned the past few months is that if I don't work at this constantly I will slip back into old habits and lose everything I have worked so hard for.
I have a lot of hard work ahead of me.
