Never To Late

Wednesday, August 03, 2011

My mother died 27 years ago. Being the oldest I thought it was my duty to keep our family together. I did with a little help from others for a long time but just a few years ago we had a lot of problems of gigantic proportions which caused hard feelings and a lot of unsolvable problems. It broke my heart. I felt like I failed. Since joining SparkPeople and finding so many with similar things going on in their lives I've discovered I'm only responsible for me! I got a text rant yesterday from a family member about another family member, it bothered me for a minute and then I thought that's not my responsibility, deleted it and went on my way. Thanks Spark Friends, some of you know who you are, some of you will never know how you helped me, but you did! I'm free and I will get this weight off!

You are so right, you can only control you! Good for you from freeing yourself of unnecessary guilt and hardship. You can only be responsible for you and your reactions. Good for you, and you are doing awesome :)
