P90X for an Awesome August

#’s very similar to June. So I say these summer months were pretty darn good. Go me!

For August- I have to keep the momentum going, so I am going to BRING IT with P90X.



I’ve always wanted to try it and I think I can handle it now—if not, oh well, I better soon. I am mostly interested in the weight training though. So I’ll be doing just the 3 scheduled days of strength (back/chest, shoulders/arms, legs/back and ab ripper) and get the cardio in by running (3x/week) and spinning (1x/week). If time allows I’ll try the P90X yoga. Regardless I must do regular stretching, foam rolling or other (shorter) yoga DVD, especially to ease the IT band flares I’ve been getting. I will definitely hold back running if it worsens. *crossing fingers that it will not*


I did back/chest on Monday ---and WTH!! Nothing but pull ups and push ups….. I was already thinking- Ok, This is not for me…but then I was like- why the heck not! So I pushed through. Felt like GI Jane afterwards!! Obviously I didn’t do all the push ups or abs…. But I do my best and forget the rest… Tonight is shoulders/arms—my favorite area to work out!!

I am only focusing on August for now; don’t want to get too overwhelmed but I plan to continue the program thru Sept and Oct too. Just slightly modified to fit ME and my needs….. I have to train for the DIVAS Half Marathon in San Juan, P.R. on November 13!!!

In the nutrition dept, I finally got a decent protein and will use it daily, along with my multivitamin. As usual—I am aiming for 3-4 servings of freggies a day, lean meats, only good carbs (fruits, no white stuff), no fried, no junk/processed. So far, I’ve been spot on.

August is gonna be all about Consistency, Productivity, Awesomeness and YES-- ABS!!! I want them!!!!!

    HEY! That's my plan too! I normally go to kickboxing 2 times a week and bootcamp 3 times a week but we have a break in August so I've challenged myself to do just as you've said "keep the momentum going" and I've been doing P90X and Insanity every day! Keep up the good work girl!
    Funny that you say this month is all about consistency, my mantra this month is "consistency is key" and the blog I just posted is called "It is not what you do once, but what you do consistently that matters". Enjoy the soulders and arms video, it's my favourite!

    Sounds like a great plan to me. Just keep pressing play. Try the plyometrics(the mother of all workouts) and the kenpo x they are my favorite. Just keep pressing play.

    You and me both want abs! LOL! I was planning on doing a P90X/Insanity hybrid starting this week, but decided to wait to get some other things taken care of. I'll be there with you starting Monday!
