What can I accomplish in 75 days????

Yesterday I decided to register for the Detroit 5K, which happens to be on my birthday (10/16/11)! I am a nervous about it, but also excited! I know I won't run the whole thing (not even close) but I am happy to say for the first time in my life doing a 5K is how I would choose to celebrate my birthday! (That fact is an absolute miracle!) My past birthdays have usually consisted of cheesecake and martinis. LOL

I also feel like it will keep me accountable to stay determined and on track. I now feel like I am training when I am at the gym and it helps me push myself to see what my endurance limits are. Plus, hubby and I have our anniversary cruise from 10/5 to 10/12/11 and I think having the 5K five days after we get home will be incentive to stay the course while on vacation.

I have set a goal this week of getting to the gym EVERYDAY.....Monday down, six days to go! I want to see big results on the scale next Monday!!! :) Working toward my eight pound goal for August!

That is a great way to celebrate your birthday!! I am doing the Komen 5K at the end of September but I am walking it. I'm walking with my dad who just had his hip replaced July 25th so hopefully he will be up to walking that long, if not I'll walk it with my hubby. I am aiming for at least 30 minutes of exercise every day this week.
