Unexpected Success!!!

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

YAY!!! I lost 1 pound this week. I figured my chance of loosing any weight was not good. I have had sssssssssoooooooooooooo many challenges this week, and yet, I still lost 1 pound!

First, my daughter and her husband and their dog and puppy moved back in with me. . . they had been living in Kentucky for the last 10 months. At the same time, my other daughter (who has been in Kentucky with her sister for 3 months) and her new puppy came home. So, I had spent a week cleaning and rearranging things to make sure everything was clean and ready for more bodies to live here. Then, they all got home, we moved everything in to my living room/library till we can sort, unpack, distribute, and store their things.

2 days later my mom fell. So I had to spend 4 days with her taking care of her.

At the same time, I have been working, trying to run home to make sure my dog is ok. Sneaking in a few minutes here and there with my kids. And trying to eat as healthy as I could. No time to get on the computer, much less log my food or even think about trying to exercise.

All in all, I count a 1 pound loss as a major success!!! Understanding, of course, that I am a stress eater and could have easily ate my way through the last 2 weeks...

...deep breath. Inhale. Exhale. Time to start the day...

Congrats- that is just super! That pound is huge, especially compared to the swing that could have gone the other way. I've been going the other way for the last month or two, and now am trying to get back. We get so frustrated when the scale doesn't seem to move fast enough...yet on the other side of the swing would give anything to be back where it was when it wasn't moving fast enough! Keep up the good work!

What a wonderful accomplishment. Good luck with the family moving back. They talk about empty nests but I haven't experienced it yet.
