My kid tells folks I'm 24. You gotta swap those numbers, kiddo. :-)

We are looking forward to school starting in less than two weeks. It is really sneaking up fast! We've had our supply list checked off since the end of May. I've had so much fun picking out the Bug's backpack and lunchbox and pencil case and towel and all that other cool stuff big girls need for school. And it's all pink, of course! Who knows how I'll feel that first day when I walk with her up to the front door, but right now, we're all just bouncing around with excitement.
I had an interesting birthday Saturday. It started with taking my daughter to TKD. It's our tradition that if she has a good class, we get smoothies on the way home. She always gets a Sunrise Sunset (orange, mango, strawberry and banana). As I'm turning onto the main drag, it falls out of her cup holder and lands on its side in the floor board. So I pull into a parking lot and start scooping smoothie out of my van with my hands. I had tried to salvage what was left in her cup and put it back in her cup holder. And after destickifying (thank you, Universe, for making Wet Wipes!), we were on our way... Until my kid lifts her cup to take a sip. The straw had punched a hole that I didn't notice in the bottom of her styrofoam cup. So now she and her booster seat are covered in fruit juice. We get home and I strip her down to put her uniform in the wash before anything stains, then head up to my van with a roll of paper towels to try and clean it up. I have to wash her seat cover and clean the seat base and cup holder, which was half full of smoothie. All the while she's freaking out that she won't get a smoothie that morning. And this was all before 10:30.
So after that, all I really wanted to do for my birthday was get my van detailed. (BTW, did you know that you can get a free car wash at Anthony's on your birthday? I didn't, but you can. :-) But we had already made plans with my in-laws. After cleaning everyone and everything as best as I could, we were off. Lunch at, wait for it... Mt. Fuji, where I had the sushi/sashimi combo, and the family had a great time. Then we went to my MIL's for cake and presents.
Can I just say that I am a very lucky person with a wonderful and generous family. And it's not over yet! Wednesday is lunch with my parents, and knowing my mom, more gifts! One of the best gifts I got was from the Bug: The Biggest Loser for the Xbox Kinect! I can't wait to break that baby out and work off all the carrot cake!
