July Monthly Update

So my goals for this month were:
~ Increase my pushupability
~ Clean my diet further
~ Actually lose some weight 6lbs is the goal.
~ Meet some personal fitness goals
* 100 Miles in A Month
* Get back up in Shirshasana (headstand)
* Summit a peak in the Chugach
This 100 pushup program is extremely optimistic and I am not progressing through it any anywhere near the prescribed rate but I keep going and I can do something like 10 pushups now so that is great. I did eat a lot better this month - I had a big slip up with a carton of ice cream but there were basically no chips in the house and snacks were all fruits and veggies. Since I cook real meals for everyone 3x a day, snacking is my only real trouble so that was really a big improvement.
I didn't even try for 100 miles this month but I think I am going to tackle that in August as I will have ample opportunity. I really want to get in more hikes before the weather precludes it. I do love skiing but I will feel like I wasted the summer if I don't get up in the mountains more. I did not summit any peaks in the Chugach, my goal, but I did hike a mountain (Mt. Healy). I don't get a star for it but still good :). Next month I want to claim 2 peaks, wherever they happen to be. I did get up into salamba shirshasana this month! Big victory for me. That is something I was really bumming about and now I am feeling much better. Yoga is still going well and I hope to take a bunch more classes this coming month.
Now weight wise. Not so good. I do know my body tends to lose weight very slowly especially when I have dairy in my diet so I am giving it up. Oh well. It is pretty crummy for you anyway, although delicious :) I am going to look at some eat to live meal plans and just add in some things I know my body needs like broth as well as salmon since we have over 65lbs in the freezer right now.
I am going to do the Last Mommy Standing Challenge but since we are traveling so much next month I won't be able to do the regular team challenges this month :( I am sad as I have really enjoyed being a part of the Lemons and have gained a lot from being on this team. I should be back in September and will be looking forward to team competition again :) Last Mommy Standing should be good for me as what I really want to do is lose lbs. right now. I don't need to focus as much on my activity for August as I will be very busy and most of it will be physically demanding anyway. I am hoping that the focus on weight will help me keep my diet on track since eating is much more likely to slip than activity right now.
