That's Shocking!

Sunday, July 31, 2011

So my goal for this month was to work out in the morning at least 3 times per week. I wasn't terribly concerned about meeting this goal, since I had been enjoying my morning swim for the month of June. As I've mentioned in other blog posts, I love the feeling of swimming and swimming outdoors, and having it be the first part of may day is really quite enjoyable. As a wrap up to the end of July I worked out 17/12 times in the morning. WOO HOO!

The shocking part for me was the fitness minutes. It's no longer a shock when I pass 500 fitness minutes in a month, but I usually don't get to 1,000. I was surprised when I actually passed 1,000 and I was super pleased. Another shocking and exciting piece of news was that I burned 7,000+ calories this week. Now, I had some help, I cleaned the poo out of my house, which burned a generous amount of calories, and then I moved my brother out of his college apartment, also a a nice calorie burner. While I knew that spark's fitness guide would "scold" me for going over so much, but I couldn't help but feel excited and proud at my calories burned!

My August goal is going to be about tracking my food on Spark people. I did REALLY well for so many months, however this summer I just haven't been into it (especially on the weekends) So I've decided that I need to hold myself accountable, I have the workout piece mostly under wraps, I just need to build the calorie tracking back into my daily routine. I knew I wanted to track my calories, but I need to make it challenging, yet attainable. Therefore the goal for my birthday month is to track food 27/31 days!

In theory it takes a person 21 days to build a new habitat, let's hope this works!
