A better day

Today was a much better day than yesterday. I was stronger throughout the day and ate mindfully. I got some exercise in, which seemed to help.

Woke up for spinning at 5am. Huge storm outside, and I wanted nothing more than to lay in bed and listen to it, snuggled up next to my husband. But alas, the gym called. So off I went. Class was good, I'm glad I went. I really enjoy it and it's a great workout.

Got home right as Max was waking up. We had greek yogurt with some Kashi Go Lean in it. 168 calories. Not a lot of food, but the protein filled me up.

In an effort to not snack throughout the morning, when Max went down for his morning nap, I did too. I mostly just laid in bed and read, and I dozed a bit, but it kept me from eating, so I'd say it was worth it.

After our nap, we snacked on some cherries. Max LOVES cherries. 64 calories.

Husband had mentioned going to Chipotle for lunch today. I love love LOVE chipotle, but haven't been there in YEARS because it's just too dangerous for me. I opted out and made myself a BBQ chicken salad instead. It was good, but it was no chipotle ;) 385 calories.

I really needed something sweet after lunch and I tired to shake the urge but it wouldn't go away, so eventually I gave in and had a mini almond joy. That lasted me then until about 4pm, when I snacked on 3/4 oz of animal crackers and a toffee square. 236 calories for afternoon snacks.

Dinner was supposed to be a pasta dish, but I wasn't feeling it, so I made turkey meatloaf instead with corn on the cob. So delish. Definitely a crowd pleaser in this house. 331 calories.

Tonight I will eat my normal fiber bar coming up here soon for 140 calories.

I feel good about the mindful eating I did today, consciously making choices for fruits and veggies over less healthy alternatives. Fruits and/or veggies at every meal! And even for a snack! Total of 1324 calories for the day. Feeling really good and ready for another streak :)

    Way to go! If the little "joy" doesn't send you fiending for more, then that's a great choice for a snack!
