Not a Number but a Change

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

It seems to me that it's not a special number on the scale, but a sufficient change to suggest that I have 'arrived'. If I could stay at 159 and still have nothing that jiggles inappropriately, I would. And even when the number on the scale doesn't move, my body is still changing. It's the approaching arrival that I have to keep in mind, not the number on the scale.

That's why I miss the old scales that had the adjustment knob up front. When the scale was being a little to stubborn, you could just give nature a little nudge.
