Weight loss goal achieved! Back to using Spark.

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

After massive regain, I left Spark to go to the Medifast website where I used their trackers and daily tools, and made new online friends.

I used Medifast products to take off 30 pounds (2 "real" meals a day plus 4 Medifast meals). I'm at the lowest weight I've been since my early twenties. I'm 34. I'm happy with the results.

Now I'm on my way back to eating more real, whole, healthy foods, and so I'm back to Spark to use the tracking tools here.

I went through my old tracker and looked at the foods I had added as custom foods. No wonder I wasn't losing weight! Sugar sugar sugar starch starch starch. Wow.

In the last 6 months, I've switched from convenience foods and heaps of sugar and flour to a diet consisting largely of:
--heaps of vegetables (not potatoes though!)
--tofu
--eggs from my chickens
--chicken (not from my chickens!)
--turkey
--crab
--fish
--shrimp
--pork, not often
--beef, not often
--fruit
--cottage cheese
--jalapeno jack cheese
--plain greek yogurt
--soy crisps (when I need a crunch)
--almond milk
--soy creamer
--half and half
--lots and lots of seasonings

Nearly everything I eat is whole, clean food. Meat marinated in seasonings with a side of grilled or steamed veggies. Plain greek yogurt with fruit I stew and spice. Lettuce wrapped tacos made with ground turkey. Curried tofu over minced spicy cauliflower with peas.

I am eating better, tastier food than I ate to get fat!

I can do this forever.

That's not to say I'm not afraid I'll screw up, but for the first time in a very long time, I believe I can stay thin and eat healthy.
