Jumping in...that first walk in months is always a doozie.

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Well, I went on hiatus for a few months. I see the last time I posted a blog was back in April. I am fortunate in that I'm still losing weight, probably thanks to a painkiller for this frozen shoulder nonsense that has the side effect of being quite an appetite suppressant. went right out the window. I've still been walking every day but only a bit over a mile.
We took a quick trip up to Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland last month. So beautiful! We did a bit of hiking in the National Parks and I came to the realisation that I might well be satisfied with losing 20 pounds and a bit...but my poor overworked body still needs to be at a normal, lighter weight. The combination of years on my feet for work and carrying sometimes 75+ extra pounds has taken a toll on my knees. I can walk for hours on level or gently undulating land....but throw in steps and I'm done. My right knee complains and continues to complain for days.
So I am back. I'm still not tracking food but it needs to start soon. My daughter wants to get started again too so we are resuming our daily walks. We started today. I forgot my "spedometer" but I think the route we took is somewhere around 2.5 miles. Can you say whipped? I was whipped by the time we got home.
For the last month I've had several recurring dreams - in one I see a scale with the weight 174 lbs. And in others, I am all decked out in a wonderful Regency get-up (think Pride and Prejudice) and I am thin and glamourous. So this must be a sign.
