RECONNECTING

Sunday, July 24, 2011

I just want to thank you all for the warm congratulatory messages you left me, I was very touched by all the kind words. It's weird because in one way it seems like the time has just flown by and in another way it feels like I have been away from SP for such a long time that I don't know where to begin to get reconnected with everyone. I really need to get back on track both with exercise and diet. Although I have continued on my vegan diet I hadn't been putting the time in preparing meals like I should have, pressured for time with my studies I was doing just what was quick and not always the healthiest. I also slacked off on exercise when time got tight so needless to say I have gained a few pounds. On top of the studies work has become very stressful and unpleasant leading me back to comfort eating which I thought I had conquered. But now that my mind is off of studying I intend to move forward. The bright light in my future is that I have decided to retire from the job I no longer enjoy in December when I turn 62 and I am really looking forward to that. Once I retire and take a little time to myself I may try to find a way to put my Nutrition Consultant education to work. I would like to find a Holistic Health Center locally where I could have clients referred to me to work out food plans for them, but we will see where next year leads me. So bare with me as I try to get reintroduced to SP and all of my friends here.

Hi Diana, This is just me subscribing to your blogs AND saying Go for it--find a way to work with clients on their food plans! I think that is a wonderful goal and a great gift to offer the world.

Dropping out is fine. Think of even the best sprinters may drop back during a race, but as long as you cross the finish line, it doesn't matter what place you're in. Just keep in the race and hang in there.

Dear Diana, it is so wonderful to have you back amongst us again! Ironic that while you were mastering the nutritional stuff it was difficult to manage your own eating, but that's so understandable. Now you know what to do and why, and it should be simple enough to make your best choices. Your experience will also give you empathy for your clients who will tell you things like this. I LOVE your idea of leaving work you don't love to start doing what you feel so strongly about. It will work out! Thanks for letting us know how you are, and know that we're here for you!
