Driving, doctors, and coupons and a crash!
Thursday, July 21, 2011
Today was my first day to get in the car and go to a doctor appointment alone. It was the yearly ladies' exam, so I figured I could leave the hubby home. Then I mailed a package, and went to the local discount department store that begins with a W to get jar lids and rings, then on to the local fabric and craft store. I had a coupon!
That was the most fun, clutching my lone 40% off coupon and browsing the yarn, trying to decide on what would catch my eye. Since I am mostly a creative crocheter, I don't need scads of one kind. I was entranced by a pretty variegated rust/olive/brown acrylic that was smooth, and not the typical worsted weight. It cost be well under $3. It will make a nice addition to my unpottery.
It is the same kind/sheen/weight of yarn as this picture.
Then when I got home, I was sitting at my computer chair, and bent over to pick something up that dropped. Oh, oh. Bad move. Big error. The chair rolled over and dumped me on the floor. Luckily I did not land on the recently surgeried knee, but did land on the painful sciatic nerve of left rump and leg. I did not really make that much noise, I had to call out to Ron to come help me. He brought me the walker to help myself up, but it is critical that you can bend your knees to get up. That is something that is very difficult.
I am up. I am ok. Sitting carefully. My ego bruised more than me, though my muscles are a little hurting. How I hate falling. Not a good thing. At least it was not down the stairs. I don't think today is a good day to go upstairs. Level ground does me in. Sitting even.
Needless to say, I do not feel like standing up and doing any canning today. Jam will have to wait til tomorrow.
Company is coming soon. Sweet hubby washed the kitchen floor.
