Second Day with Wii

My day was interesting.
I tried to walk a bit at work, but did not dare go outside for a lengthier walk in the heat of the day. I usually take my lunch around 2pm, and that clearly is NOT the time to go exposing myself to the heat and the UV, especially since I'm just at the end of recovering from severe sunburn on my back.

My nutrition is way off, but I will officially focus on that in a week or two. For the next two weeks I want to get back into checking in on Spark every day, blogging most days, and working back up to 10k steps a day. I never really accomplished a long streak of 10 minutes of other exercise a day so with my new "tools" I'm excited about starting and continuing with that new goal.

I took to the floor this evening before a meeting to do my back exercises - another habit I need to get back into and have been thinking about for a few days now - and got a bad leg cramp. That sure stopped me in my tracks! I rarely suffer from leg cramps, so when I do get one it feels particulary painful. I'm currently renting Just Dance 2. It's fun. It works up a sweat with just one dance, but takes a while to pick up the movements. My music tastes are very specific, so I did a lot of checking of songs before finding one that had an easier level indication and one that I liked.

I found myself frustrated when I worked on the wii at home after my meeting. I did 20 minutes in wii fit plus, and did more balance stuff then anything. I didn't want to over-do it, given I'd gotten the cramp earlier in the evening, plus I realized that the aerobic section of wii fit plus is lacking. I felt like I "cheatied" myself out of aerobics. I could have gone out of wii and done Just Dance 2, which would definitely have given me the aerobic exercise I wanted, but I can't record that in wii fit plus, and so it would have recorded less than my goal of 20 minutes of exercise. I am very goal oriented, so I like that I can see exactly how many minutes I am exercising, and I like to have a central location to record that stuff.

I understand there's only so much you can do using the board specifically related to aerobics. But not all the games contained in Wii Fit + use the board, so why can't they also do, say jumproping, or something fast paced with your arms. But then, I've just barely started so I need to give it time and be persistent and see what games I unlock as I go.

I have Gold's Gym Dance workout coming, maybe as early as tomorrow, and Dance Dance Revolution coming in a few days. Verrry excited about DDR!

I did 20 minutes working on wii fit plus.
Did some yoga, balance and aerobics. I skipped strength today because I did 30 minutes yesterday and overdid it.
