Bread - my arch nemesis

I did REALLY well today. Had a lunch meeting and ordered a delicious salad, ate good snacks, was within all my nutrition ranges, plenty of veggies/fruits... and then I ate 3 pieces of rye toast with a tbsp of margarine, at 9 o'clock at night.

WHY????? I feel so gross now. And it's bedtime. Which means all of this is going to just convert into sugar, and then fat.

Dang it! Ugh - I erased an hour of exercising today with TOAST!

    I am with you... bread is my crack! I seem to crave carbs at night too... and sadly they fill me up the best. I will never be a person who cuts it out of my life completely, I have no desire to. But what I DO hope is I can train myself to take ONE items out of the bread basket at a restaurant and not be salivating over a second!!!

    oh man I love bread. especially rye/ time think about if you NEED it or if you can live without it. Is it helping you reach your goals, or hurting you.

    Thanks for all the encouragement and advice. I had a good cardio workout at the gym just now and when I get home I'm going to do 6W6P, so at least I'm still working out.

    I honestly don't think I was easting emotionally or anything. I was just thinking about how good a nice slice of toast would be, and then before I knew it I'd eaten three. It just sounded delicious and I wanted it! :-/

    I've never been a great example of will power but I'm making progress. For instance, last night AND the night before FH had wine, and I did not partake!

    Don't get discouraged over it. Just figure out what triggered your impulse and try to remedy it the next day. emoticon

    a slice of rye is only like 60 calories. so that's not even that much!! you could have done way worse, try not to stress about it! I'm a total carb junkie myself, and always crave bread pasta or taco bell lol. doing a work out the next day usually makes me feel better after a slip up emoticon

    Was it the day? I did the same thing- but my bread was fresh semolina that I bought "for my girls" - who really do love it. But they didn't need it either and WHY did I do that at 8 pm?

    I have a love/hate relationship with bread!!!! I am surprised how little I am missing it now though, ummmm, that is odd!!!!! This diet seems to be doing what it claims, go figure?!?!?

    I've been totally struggling with cravings too. I think its my hormones. I listened to an interview with Bob and Jillian where they talked about how a piece of pizza = 1hr in the gym. SUCKS! At least you canceled the toast out by working out. It could have been worse. Tomorrow is another day!
