Wedding (not mine!) Weekend Madness
Wednesday, July 20, 2011
This past weekend, my friend Nikki got married. I was a bridesmaid and my finace was a groomsman. It was a bit hectic, but it was so so good seeing all of our old college friends that have moved away or fallen out of touch through the years. I did ok nutrition-wise, but I think we all went a bit overboard on the adult beverages both at the rehearsal dinner and at the reception, which means exercise wise... uhhhh... yeah right. Here are some pictures:
Me and my girl Stef (I'm on the right):
Me and my Mr.:
I don't think he's capable of a genuine non-goofy smile.
A Phi Mu Alpha tradition- all of the brothers in attendance serenade the bride:
so sweet! It makes me cry every time.
I FINALLY got my @ss in gear this week and picked back up on my workouts. Did TurboFire 55EZ last night... debating on what to do tonight and for the rest of the week. My running has come to a stand still since Josh got back from his active duty and my dinner-making duties have returned. Even still... It's so so so hot here in TN, even into the night after the sun sets, the air still feels like you could swim through it. ANYway. I need a plan. I tend to do best when I can look at a calendar or a list, see what needs to be done right in front of me, DO IT, then cross it off my list.
Same with nutrition. I've somewhat fallen off the "clean-eats" wagon, and I'm wanting so so bad to get back on, but in my general way, I did it MOSTLY, then for sporadic weeks, and didn't let it become a habit. So my plan for this week is to research and compile GOOD go-to sources for clean shopping lists and recipes, be it blogs, books, or websites, put them in my GoogleReader, fill out a list/calendar of meal plans, then get crackin. Then I can batch cook my little heart out until I get the hang of this. I also plan to do this with strength training routines (Oxygen Magazine is THE JAM in helping with this). I can't just grab up a set of dumbells or enter the lifting section of the gym without a carefully mapped out plan of attack. So. there's that.
