A little catch up

Monday, July 18, 2011

I have been trying to keep up some good habits, and blogging/keeping a diary is one of them. I missed Sunday somehow in the busy-ness of my weekend, and now Monday is almost over. Being active sure makes the days fly by!

Saturday night, I took the kids to a local drive in for a double feature. Drive ins are hard to come by in some parts of the country, but I am fortunate that I have TWO drive ins to choose from within a 20 minute drive of my home. We saw Transformers and Bad Teacher. Bad Teacher is NOT suitable for small kids, but fortunately for me, my little one was fast alseep by then. My teenager, well, I wasn't too worried about her seeing it. These days our kids are sooo exposed to negativity, sexuality, and the like that I would rather be there when she sees things. Anyway, she is almost 16 and the movie was somewhere along the lines of "there's something about Mary". I enjoyed the time out with my kids, and it was only $16 for the 3 of us for two movies. Hard to find bargains like that these days.

Sunday was pretty uneventful. I generally spend some of my weekend cleaning and preparing for the work week. I am lowering my home expectation these days, so I do less cleaning. I have tried to make my little home as organized as possible. I try to purge clutter as I go, I try to keep things picked up, but I have mellowed out. Anyway, yardwork was the chore of the day Sunday. I dug up weeds, watered plants, put down some colorful wood chips. It was nice to get out and soak up some sun while burning some calories.

Sunday night I grilled up some chicken and prepped some food for work on Monday, then sat down and watched Trueblood with my hubby and oldest child.

Eating wise, I think I am doing pretty well. I am trying to keep my carbs to around 100, and most importantly, I am logging what I am eating.

So that is the last few days.

Good morning! I see you've been planting seedlings on my page - thanks! emoticon

I enjoyed reading your blog. Yes, this being active really makes the days speed by, doesn't it? I know just what you mean about kids watching certain shows. We certainly can't protect them forever and sometimes it helps to actually watch some of the stuff with them.

Good work tracking the food. I think it's so worth it!

Logging is one of the toughest, but most rewarding habits to maintain! Good for you!
