Life Under Siege!

Monday, July 18, 2011

They never come alone. I've been told they send scouts out to check a place out. If they find a cozy spot, with food, water...then the scout returns, marking his path for return, sends a signal and returns with maurading hoards! They are insipid little things! And they have breeched the perimider in a weak spot, where the water pipe goes to the outside faucet. They sneak up the pipe, under the kitchen floor and march out in droves to anything left on the kitchen counter, range or floor. They'll stop at nothing to find a food source, and even the dogs dish is not beneath them! Their strength is in their numbers...I'm thinking Billions!
Billions of tiny teeny ants! And last week they invaded MY kitchen! It's been a constant battle...tried several old tricks, red pepper across their path, wipe trails with vinegar to destroy scent trail, and yesterday we resorted to chemical warfare! Today we go into basement to spray under the kitchen, on the basement ceiling, pipes, outside area too.
We will win this War! emoticon The Ants may have the numbers...but I am the bigger person!

We had them too! Nasty little guys. Had to resort to chemicals also and they were all gone within 3 days. The worse part, they had to go into this little contraption and then back out to take the stuff to their nest. I had to watch them for a couple of days without killing them. Hard to do when all you want to do is smash them. LOL. Good luck!!

Oh ,Theresa, I sympathize. This is the first year in many that I haven't had the same war to wage. I wish I knew why, so i could make sure it stays that way. I usually get them about March and have them through the summer. Be strong!

Theresa......YOU can win the war. Just battle by battle your way to victory. Ants are just so pesky! We had a short bout of problems with them this spring. LUCKILY was a short war.

When it's hot those pesky ants do go for the water and they aren't easily intimitated either. When I find ants on my kitchen floor I usually spray them with 409 and wipe them up. Someone told me that ants hate 409 Spray Cleaner. . .You will win the ant war! Good Luck Dear Friend.

Oh Theresa, I am so sorry, You will have the victory! We were traveling in our RV and came into a campground late in the evening so the ranger told us just to back into there overflow area and then in the morning when its light we could find our campsite. That was fine with us . The next morning I decided to do my wash because we were right across from the laundry room. Then I saw them, we had been invaded. They were marching everywhere. LOL. My dear Hubby had backed right over an ant hill. We were over hanging a small drop off and the ant hill was about 2 1/2 feet tall. We had never seen anything like that before and since we were in the south, our first thought was fire ants. LOL, but they were just pesky little ants and we too won the battle, It was easy! We moved quick.

    Good Luck
