1st Blog in Two Weeks

I haven’t blogged much lately. First I was on vacation and then I got sick.
My lupus has gotten the better of me. I am swollen up and in a lot of pain. I gave into the pain and didn’t get in much exercise over the past 2.5 weeks. I came out of June with the highest fitness minutes I have had since I started – over 1,100. And now I am back to square one – panting and sweating my way through the easy walking workout. I hate it when my body does not want to cooperate with me. I was swimming because the water was easier on my joints but the doctor said no more of that either (the sun aggravates my lupus). I was wearing sunscreen and stayed in the part of the pool in the shade but I guess that wasn’t enough to not set off my lupus. I thought I was okay because I didn’t get the hives like I usually do if I am getting too much sun. I was doing so good and getting in so much exercise in the pool – I hate that I have to give it up.
On the plus side I kept my eating within range. I gained a pound while on vacation but I was able to shed it again this week so I am back to where I was before this flare-up hit. I was glad because I got a new car as my reward for getting to my half way point and I felt guilty when I gained. But I love my new Malibu.

3. Fiber One Brownies (90 calories / 20% of daily fiber / so much chocolate)

1. I am tough
2. Learning to deal with stress
3. I didn’t give up
