The Body Chat

Saturday, July 16, 2011

I want to thank all of the Sparkers that responded to my first Blog. I am so thankful to have Sparkpeople and this community. I am feeling encouraged to write my thoughts.
Do you talk to your body? I have been told that I am weird because I talk to myself and to my body. Maybe I am, but I find that I stay motivated, positive, and energized if I speak out to myself when needed. This first came to realization when I was taking a fitness class and we were in a two minute plank. I was struggling and I when we were down to the last 30 seconds I said out loud "Come on, you can do anything for 30 seconds". Well afterwards there were responses from others and questions. I just simply said that I am my own trainer and if I have to yell at myself I will and I am not ashamed no matter where I am at, home or the gym.
Currently I am struggling with my feet, legs, and knees. They are hurting, popping, and being down right cranky. So I sooth them and I have conversations about how we will get through this rough time together but I need my body to help. Am I alone out here?? emoticon

I haven't talked to my body but I do talk to my rebellious mind frequently. I think my mind is lazier than my body.

LOL nope you are not alone and you are not crazy!!! I was talking to my knees this am, on my morning walk. They were hurting and I said well we can turn around or keep going ( I was going in a 1km circle). Kept going did my 1 km in 12 mins and came back and had a hot cup of green tea.

Good for you for keeping going!!! yay on consistency!
